Yoga has been a saving grace in my life. I began practicing in 2010 after overcoming cancer, and having just become a mom, I wanted to make positive changes in my life. Yoga is incredibly healing and as a mother to two little ones, I love seeing kids have fun learning yoga and finding deeper connection with their minds and breath. This is such an important tool to teach children and it will carry over into their adult lives. I am a graduate of both mini yogis teacher training and Shana Meyerson’s 200-hour YOGAthletica Teacher Training. I have a degree in both Biology and Deaf Studies from Cal State University Northridge and was a sign language interpreter for over ten years. Though I have a particular soft spot for deaf children, I want to spread this gift to as many kids as possible. Seeing the kids have fun and learn at the same time is just amazing.
yoga is a gift
It is an uplifting, noncompetitive, mind-expanding, and fun way for children to build strength, spirit, and self-esteem.
mastering the ancient art of being a kid!
"I was shocked yesterday that both of my boys (one who is ADHD and can't sit still for a second!) sat perfectly still during opening meditation and Savasana. It was quite amazing. I also really loved that [Shana] had the kids tell the class WHO made them special and WHAT makes them special."
