Through a series of fortuitous events, Yochai came to Santa Monica Power Yoga in 2007. Humbled by a shoulder injury, unable to perform sometimes the most basic yoga poses, Yochai diligently practiced under the guidance of Rudy Mettia. Yochai not only noticed his shoulder improving, but he also found himself becoming less reactive and impulsive in his everyday life. Yoga provided the ability to find calm in the midst of chaos – a quality of living he’d always searched for.

Now, Yochai is sharing yoga to help others find a center within themselves. And it is through the simple power of the practice, that he believes we can all restore our physical, mental, and emotional health and well being.

Yochai received Udaya’s 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (2013) under Rudy Mettia. Two years later he received his 300-hour accreditation from Jules Mitchell (2015). He is certified to teach kids and teens yoga through Shana Meyerson’s mini yogis teacher training accreditation (2009, 2015, 2019) and completed an assortment of other certifications dealing with at-risk and trauma-senstive populations.

Yochai is currently an E-RYT 500 yoga teacher, accredited through Yoga Alliance.

mastering the ancient art of being a kid!

"I had such a wonderful time [at your teacher training] and it was so inspiring. I've read other books and material on teaching kids, but nothing has particularly grabbed me, but I really can see how your style will work...I feel very priveleged to have met you and to have learned from you."
